and was more than pleased to heat'
from you. This is sure some country
over here and wehave been having
lots of sunshine at the -present time.
Over a million of our ‘boys over hero
no\v, and thousands arriving every
dny. iii' we can’t lick those Germans,
nobody can.
We have abd quite a few air raids
in this city with in the last few months
ibut they do not 'bother us very much.
We had some big day over here on
the 4th of July. A big parade in which
3.000 of our boys took part. The
French people buried them with flow-
ers and aeroplanes filled the air doing
all kinds of stunts flying upside down
for some distance; also on their sides,
and looping the loop. Aeroplancs
ere flying right over the heads of
our boys while marching thro the
streets. ‘It was a wonderful sight.
Hope the family is enjoying the
best of health, I do not expect to be
'in this city n greet while longer, as
e expect to complete our work up
with the boys' on the front. Sure wish
this thing was over so as I could re-
turn to door old East Boston, but
nothing doing until we finish up that
Kaiser and his bunch of slaves.

KENSINGTON.-The laughable farce
comedy "Hooligan's lTroubles" de-
lighted the large audience in the C.
M.B.A. Hall ut Kensington on Mon-
day night. The scene of the play is
laid in New York city and tihe finish-
kig scene is at the famous summer
resort of Coney Island. The singing,
dancing and up~to-date jokes' were
unsurpassed on any vaudeville stage.
The company is composed oi' first
class comedians and no doubt will
play to large audiences on their trip
through P. E. Island. K
-ARRIVED SAFELY. - Mr. Dr.
Stewart, of Northam, has received
a cable announcing the safe arrival
in England of his son, Corpl. David
I.. Stewart, oi' the U. S. A. army, who
sailed from New York the latter part
of July. This gallant young man.
who was born in Wyanlotte, Mich.,
his mother dying at his birth, April
26, 1893, came to this Island with his
father, when only five weeks old and
in 1910 returned to the Unified States,
farming for some time in |South Caro-
lina. Ile was quite an athlete, win-
ning several running races over a
25 miles course from Ashland to Bos-
ton. His relatives and friends in P.
E. island will follow his career with

Fred Arsenault of Summerside died
oi' wounds received in action on Aug-
ust 5th. Private Arsenault was well
and favorably known in Summersidc,
and enlisted in the 105th.

tain S. Cairn, who is now in com-
mand, entered port on Monday from
Picton, with n' cargo of coal for the
Island Railway. The schooner Bonus.
Captain Straight, entered on Tuesday
from Pictou with railway coal. The
Northumberland docked on Tuesday
evening at 8.20 with 109 passengers,
there were 124 crossed over on the
