SpecraL Deseatonss to Suk Exawiwen. Otiawa News. Orrawa, Aug. 25. A sad drowning accident occurred here yesterday, by which Mrs. Dufurt, wife of an insurance agent, and E. Dionne, book- keeper, lost theirlives. They, with some others, were crossing the Ottawa River, their craft was run down by a barge, and swamped. All were rescued, but Dionne | and Mra, Dufurt. The woman's body was recovered immediately, but Dionne’s has not get been found. The body of the woman found some weeks ago in the water on the Hull side of the river, was exhumed yesterday and indenti- fied as that of Aimie Lough, who disappear- ed mysteriously in October last. It is generally believed that the woman was murdered. She was last seen on her way | to s house where she was at service at_ Ottawa. Joseph Killeourse, bricklayer, fell out of a window of his boarding house yesterday fracturing his skull. He died in a few hours. Mrs. Bonsecours, who will be remember- | ed as the wife of Midas Bonsecours, who went to Harrison, Wis., where he was murdered a couple of weeks ago by being hit on the head with anaxe has returned to Canada and is now with her relatives in, Early, near Hull. Mrs. Bonsecours and a man allegedto have been her paramour were arrested as being the murderers of , Bonsecours. Mrs. Bonsecours was liberat- ed by the authorities, however, as no evi- dence against her was adduced. At the’ trial the other prisoner made a confession which implicated himself alone and he will | probably be hanged. A Fatal Flood. Provivence, R. }., Aug. 25. Spring Lake reservoir (near Fishville, | about 15 miles from this city, which sup-| plies a whole row of mills in villages, along! the Pawtucket River) burst this afternoon. | Mrs. Green Lew, aged 60, Mrs. Hawkins, aged 90, Mrs. Lew’s son, six or seven years old, were overtaken by the flood, and drowned. The bodies were found in the wood through which the water quickly ran, tillit emptied ito the Pawtucket Riv- er. Theriver rose rapidly, and caused considerable alarm among the people along the banks. Many fied, but the flood subsided as rapidly as it came. The path of the water from the reservoir was through athinly settled country, and the only damage to property was the wreck- ing of a stable belonging to Russel Mathew- son, and a carriage shop belonging to Pr.
