Featuring many of the bands second tier hits, this CD (B) also features top notched singles such as “Don’t Worry, Baby” and “Little Honda.” “Heroes and Villains,” one of Brian Wilson’s ground-breaking songs, is offset by post-Wilson tracks that saw the group moving towards an r&b sound, as shown in “Bluebirds Over The Mountain” and “Cottonfields.” Often introspective, as shown in “In My Room” and “The Warmth Of The Sun.” this CD is the perfect complement to Volume 1. Blige album cover, it was a hectic Bluntly put, I’m sick of hearing crap bands saying they sound like the Pogues. Yeah, the Prodigals sound like the Pogues — inus Shane MacGowan and a good sound! Virtually all of the songs on this CD (D-) open the same, and the wimpy vocals ake me want to vomit. Avoid this CD like the plague. In- stead, pick up a copy of Black 47’s Live In New York. Edwin Another Spin Around The Sun Epic/Sony Much to my surprise, this CD (B+) is very well done. Showcasing Edwin’s vocal range, from his crooning of the final track “Another Drink” to the neo-surf sounds of “Hang Ten,” it’s tough to pick out a bad track. Sure, “Trippin” can be annoying when played over and over, but that’s to be expected. A top-notch launch to his solo career, Another Spin Around The Sun is worth picking up. O’Connor march through the horrors of search ngine realities. It is hard to find things when you need them. But, alas there is a happy ending. The good folks at amazon.com (A-)helped me out by listing all albums nicely, with graphics for each. Unfortu- ately, it’s the most uninspired album that ve come to hear from an otherwise excel- lent music label. Don’t get me wrong, Eddy may well be a fine talent, but all the tracks seem to be repetitive. A labour to listen to. Skip this CD and buy something by Richard Wood.
