WASHINGTON AP — The Sen- ate finance committee voted 12-2 Thursday for an extension of the reciprocal trade program in a form far different from what President Eisenhower asked. In the first place, the proposed extension is for three years. Pres- ident Eisenhower asked for five years, and the House of Rep- resentatives voted five. Also, the Senate committee wrote in an amendment sharply limiting the power of the pres- ident to overrule the tariff com- mission on the question of higher tariffs.
