JOHN, July 22.-St. John to- night is in the midst of a strike-with 'n possibility of the men in the power houses being called out and the city being thrown into darkness. The trouble originated over the dismissal of Fred Ramsay, President of the Street Railway and Electric Power House Workers' Union. ‘Ramsay was charged with several offences of a minor character and dismissed. The mcn claimed the company had been animated by a desire to strike at their Union and that the treatment accorded ‘Ramsay was unfair. They were granted a Concilliatlon Board and Dlaccd their case before it. The Board's decision was that the (Tom-I pany should re-employ Ramsay ln' some capacity and this the Company refused to do saying they had no work for him.
