'I'l'ie President read to the Meeting a series of Resolutions, pre. ‘pared by him on the subject of the esinblisbniont of a periodical Sale of improved Stock, to be held under the direction of the Society, which, on motion of lien. \V. Swabcy, were adopted by the Committee, and ordered to be publislii.-d with the minutes of this Meetin . The Resolutions are as fnllow:— \Vhereas, a correct list of the number and kind of Improved Stock, intended to be oflbred I'or Sale at the Annual Fair and Cattle Show in Charlottetown, in September, if published in the Island, and in the neighbouring Proviiicea of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, would tend to collect purchasers for such animals, and thereby benefit the farmers and breeders of improved Stock in this Island. Tlierrfore, Resolved, _ y do open ll Book, for the purpose of entering the names of the owner, and ii description of the kind of animal which he will bring for Sale at the Fair, and any person having cattle or sheep of improved breeds, on sending in his name to the Secretary, together with the pedigree and age ofthe niiimal intended to be entered for Sale, on or before the First day of August next, shall be entitled to have his name entered in such ilt " 2. " That an advertisement, containing a correct list and des- cription of the animals entered in such Book, shall be published in this Island, and also in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, one vllltllllll before the Fair." _ 8. " That the Society will make arrangements with an Auction- eer, to sell such animals at the ‘air, for a small Comuiissioii: that each animal be set up at Public Auction, the owner thereof being allowed to buy him, in case he shall not be content with the high- est bidding: if sold, the Aitctinnec-r's Commission alone will be deducted from the price, and the residue, without niiy charge for advertising, &c., paid over by the Auctioneer to tho stiller; but in case the animal is not sold, but bought in by the owner, no charge wbstsror will be made. _ _ _ _ The object ofthis Society, in adopting this measure. being to e the raising of line stoclr in the sland, and also to attract purchase from the neighbouring Colonies; to cnrrfy out this ob‘ t, it will be necessary to keep up the character o the Stock crud for Sale under the Society's auspices; the Socirty, there- fore, reserves to itself the right of rejecting any inferior animal, when brought to the ground. _ The following Resolution respecting the purchase of Ram Lambs was also adopted by the Coinniittee:— Resolved, That the Society do purchase next autumn wt-ll-bred ‘Leicester and Southdown Rum Lambs, to be sent to the ditlureni Branch Societies and Depots throughout the Island, and there disposed ofat Public Auction; and that with a view of inducing breeders to preserve such Lambs, the following advertisement he at once inserted, and continued in the Newspapers for six s Its:— ADVERTISEMENT.
