Porter Company Limited of Montreal, for dredging at Wood Islands, P. E.1., it was announced by Hon. J. Angus MacLean, minister of Fisheries, and H.N. Macquarrie, M.P. for Queens. lowest of two bids in response. to public advertising. The work is specified to be completed in 12 months. The dredging will take place in an area on the west side of the harbor basin, between the new ferry terminal and the narth- erly end of the west breakwater, approximately 1,300 feet long by an average width of 143 feet. This dredging is to bring’ the widened ferry basin to the 15-foot depth required to operate a new ferry. The Northumberland Ferries Ltd., who maintain the ferry service, require the work for the safe pas- sage of their boat, which operat- es between Caribou, N. S. and Wood Islands, P.E.I.
