What they all have in common is that almost every one is a show band. Each group puts on an act to go with their music. The Heartache Razz Band is a five piece band from Van— couver which does nostalgic music from the 30's era. They appear in white face and tuxedos and play honky tonk piano. They try to get people dancing the Cha- rleston and do their own vaudeville that has such things as pie throwing. Chad Allen is the only one that doesn't fit into the show band classification. Quite a good guitarist, but bett— er known for the lyrics he writes for his songs. is a group that does an impersonation of the Beatles including costumes. They do a progression of Beatle music from the early 60's through the album Abbey Road. The Michael Quantro Jam Band from Detroit does a whOle variety of music in- cluding anything from clas- sic to hard rock, usually heavy on the electric side. The band has a whole act rthey go through while doing their music. They have nu- merous costume changes, not to mention such effects as fog, flame throwers, flash- bombs, and an unbelieveable amount of electrical equip- ment. W are a kind of jug band that plays a hillbilly rock and roll. One of their most noted acts is doing dueling banjos on a set of waShboards. W are originally from Cape Breton Island but have been liv- ing in Winnipeg for quite awhile. They do a comedy music act using routines by such people as Chec & Chong and the Smothers Brothers. They are known for doing a dialogue with the audience, and usually dr- inking as much as anybody else there. Professor Lett and Study from Virginia features Earl Lett who does some amazing things with his saxaphone, such as holding a single note for nearly five minutes. He has organized a few ban— ',ds for back-up, all of whi- ch are noted for their ex— cellent musicians. ,
