ON Thursday, Sept. 6th, a garden party North Rustico, prior the departure of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Woolner, of California, who have, for the past year, been visiting friends ani relatives on the Island. As the afternoon wore on a goodly number assembled, among whom were many of the old-time friends and neighbors, whose familiar faces brought to mind, fond and' happy memories of the long ago. School- day recollections and the thought of pleas- ant hours spent together flashed upon the mind, leaving perhaps a tinge of sadnese, when we thought of the missing ones, some in far distant lands, and many, yes, very many, whom we shall meet no more till we cross the dark valle and all present seemed in the mood to enjoy themselves. One very pleasing feature of the day was the taking of several php- tographs by Miss Maude Montgomery, of Cavendish, who, by the way, is an expert with the camera. The first picture was one of _the four generations, the persons included being Mrs. W. S. McNeill, Mrs. Woolner, at the old home. and Mrs. -I. A.
