ALICE KICKHAM with deep regret that her many friends and relatives learned of the death of Mrs. Alice Kickham. Souris West. on August 25. 1952. Mrs. Klckham had reached the advanced age of 89 years and her death was not unexpected as her strength had been steadily de- clining during the last few months of her life. Previous to those last. few months she enjoy- ed good health all of her long life and by her kindly and jovial disposition she made herself a favorite among young and old. Mrs. Kickham was one of the eldest of the large family of the late David and Mrs. Landrigrin of Covehead, P. F.. I. As a girl she It was attended Covehead School and Prince of Wales College, where she obtained her teacher's lic- ense. She taught school for a time in the eastern section of the province. Here she met and mar- ried Richard Kickham of Souris West and she started her long life as a rural housewife. She seemed to enjoy the many duties that her life entailed and her capacity for work was unbound- ed. Her charity to those in need and her devotion to her family made her a model Christian mo- ther. Though a very husy woman in her own home she still found time to take a prominent part in Church and Community affairs. From the start of the Souris Ex- hibition down to the last years of tier life the name ”.Xirs Rirtiartl Kickham" appeared frequently in the prize list for handicraft and culinary art. A staunch Roman Catholic. Mrs. Kickham was a very pious wo- man and believed explicitly in the power of prayer. In the last years other life when she was unable to take an active part in household duties, most of her time was spent in prayer. in her great charity we may be sure that she prayctl for all good (.'iii'lstianl of all dcnoiniiiations. for very many people from all faiths knew, loved, and respected her. "Aunt Alice" as she was fondly known by her many nephews and nieces, was a great lover of young people and her later years were gladdened by the company of her grandchildren, daughters of Thomas J. and Mrs. Kickham. and by visits from other grand- children. A year ago she had the pleasure of meeting for the first time her triplet. grandrliiltlren with their parents, Dr. and Mrs. James Kickham of Kitchener, Ont.
