'--FUNERAL YESTERDAY - Funeral service was held yesterday afternoon for the late Ellsworth Ferguson. age 20. of Crnpaud, who was killed on Wednesday in a tragic highway accident at Hamp- ton, when struck by a truck while changing a tire on his car. About six hundred people, some from distances beyond Charlottetown and Summerslde, gathered to pay final tribute to this boy who was very highly esteemed in his com- munity, and by all who knew him. Pall bearers were six of his young friends from Crapaud with whom he had grown up: Lionel Lowtlier, Jimmie Nicholson. Douglas Howatt. Carl Macvittie. Ernest Parkerand Jackie Johnston. The service at the house and grave was conduct- ed by Rev. 1.. S. Wooifrey. of llampton. Three truck op- erators from Elmsdale, charged under the Highway Traffic Act- with operating overweight trucks were each fined ten dollars and costs. Five persons also under the Highway Traffic Act for not hav- ing an operator's licence, one from Tignish, "two from O'Leary and two from Campbellton, were each fined five dollars and costs. A resident of Elmsdale was convicted of failing to report an accident and fined five dollars and costs. A resident of Springfield. charged under the Temperance Act with possession of illicit spirits, was fined forty dollars and costs. A meeting was held on Wednes- day of the directors of all the com- panies to discuss the amalgamat- ion proposals and approval was given to a prospectus which will be presented for the approval of the shareholders of the respective com- panies at a special general ” which will be held before July 20th. The companies involved are the Kensingtcn Dairying Cooperative Association, Dunk River Dairy Co.. Tryon Dairy 00.. Klnlrora Cheese Factory, Mont Carmel Dairy Co- operative Association, Tyne Valley cheuo factory, and Grand River cheese factory. If the plans are approved a company will be set up under the . E. i. Cooperative Association Act which will involve a capitaliz- ation in the vicinity of one half million dollars. The pioneer building is seventy feet long by fifty feet in width and a two-storey brick addition will be built which will be approximately 90x85 feet. It is hoped that this construction can be commenced this summer. The property is sufficiently large to permit this EXD(illSlCll and in addition. there is a small lot adjacent to the railway siding at the top of Noonan Street. which will be of considerable value for shipping purposes. Darby The largely attended funeral of Harry Alfred Darby was held yes- terday afternoon with service at the Compton Funeral Home at two o'clock followed by service at St. John's Anglican Church, St. Elean- ors.
