Commercial demand was less aggressive than in previous ses- sions, particularly in barley which scored heavy losses. Hedging sales were fair in oats but shipper de- mand took off some of the slack. Rye displayed weakness in re- sponse to a lbwer tone on United States markets. Heavy export business was re- ported during the week-end, with the United Kingdom taking 1,000,- 000 bushels of Canadian wheat un- der the long-term agreement; Bel- gium purchased 530,000 bushels of Canadian wheat; the Republic a! Ireland 20,000 bushels and Iran 90.000 bushels. Approximately 1.- 400.000 bushels of Canadian coarse grains also were shipped to Am- erican lake points. Class two wheat dropped two cents from Saturday. Closing quotations (basis lake- head): Oats: Dec. 81; May S0 1-8; July 78 1-2A. Barley: Dec. 1.46 1-2B; May 1.43 1-2-5-88; July 1.48 l-SA.
