Yesterday at about 12.20 p. m. a collision occurred at the corner of 1 Queen and Fitzroy Street, as a re-l suit of which an elderly citizen. Mr. James Morgan, was dangerously in- lured. A Buick Touring car, driven by Miss Laura Cox, 0f this city, was going north on Queen Street, when it was struck broadside by a Chrys- lor Sedan driven by Mr. George Munn. of Marshfleld. As a result of the collision, which demolished the running board of the Buick and the front bumper of the Chrysler, the rear end of the Buick was pushed sideways to the north strik- ing and knocking down Mr. Morgan. who was just stepping fro the sidewalk to the pavement Ti; the north east corner of the intersecQ tion. He was caught between the curbstone and the rear bumper and spare tire of the Buick, which had to be lifted before the uncon- scious man. who was bleeding from wounds about the head and face. could be extricated. He was at once rushed in another car to the Charlottetown Hospital, where medical assistance was exten- ded hy Drs. Ledwell and Dewar. It is understood that the eyesigh_t of Mr. Morgan, (who is over seventy years of age) is not good, which gives us the reason why he was not able to avoid being struck down. At the time of the occurrence there were six occupants in the Buick and two in the Chrysler, in- eluding the drivers. None of these were injured, largely. no doubt. due to the fact that neither car exceed- cd fifteen miles per hour.
