Anloclnfcd Press Financial Writer) (A. P. By Guardian’: special Wire) NEW YORK. April l5—5timu1.- ated by further encouraging news from the domestic economic front, stocks today stepped back on the upward trail. Industrial specialties led the re- covery with general gains running from fractions to 2 points. There were scattered issues that managed to push up about 5. The Associated Press average of 60 equities failed to cancel its loss of the previous session, although it got back .4 of a point at 64.2. Among items containing bullish ammluiltion was the etsimate of “Iron Age" that current steel mill operations had jumped two points to 68 percent of capacity, another new high figure since 1930. The stockholders’ annual A.meri- can Telephone meeting was a peace- ful and rather happy party in view of the announcement that the Bell system earnings for the 12 months to Feb. 29 was equal to $7.43 a share compared with $5.96 in the preced-- ing period.
