Janie 'een Simpson. _ Sixty-seven years ago in a farmhouse at Bay View there was born to Hon. Jeremiah and Margaret McNeill Simpson a little. daughter who was destined to be the comfort and support of her mother through twenty -long years of widowhood and invalidisni. Several sons and three daughters ,went out from this home to make new ones for themselves but Janie stayed to dispense hospitality and to be the comrade and friend of an ever increasing band of nephews and nieces. 1 Most of her life was spent in the old home. In_ - 1895 she moved to Charlottetown and lived with her sister Mrs. McNeill and her family; where her mother died the following year.. Three years ago she came West with Mrs. McNeill to make her home with her niece Miss Elsie McNeill. She had a ' very sick spell before leaving Charlottetown from which she never entirely recovered. Since coming to B. C., she made many friends in her little home town of always eagerly welcomed. About the first of May she caught a slight cold_from which she did not seem to rally. About two weeks be- fore her death she grew worse and a!Ma trained nurse was sent for to help!Abbey of Westminster with all the care for her. Drs. Woodley of Van- couver and Kenney of New Westmin- lster were _in attendance but she gra- dually failed and calmly and quietly breathed her last on Thursday even- f0l` ing June 8th, after being unconsci-WV o ous from the preceeding Sunday.
