markets were very strong under the
influence of heavy export buying. Cash
prices on wheat advance 2c and corn

trade in wheat has been more active
this week than for some time past

porters for supplies and sales of 25,000
bushels No 1 Northern were made at

1 58% The market for oats is quiet
with a few local sales
Baied hay The tone of the market
remains firm although the demand is
rather quiet as buyers seem to be

were 2,425 cases, as against 1,810 for

of Potomac Presbytery at the Central
Presbyterian Church in the course
of his remarks the President referred
to foreign missions, and declared that
it seemed to him that the heart and
nucleus of the great bodies of opinion
which sustained the affairs of the

Referring to China, he declared that
the most amazing and inspiring vis
ion that could be offered was that of
the great sleeping nation suddenly
ried awake by the voice of Christ
“I have not come here tonight.” said
Mr Wilson. “to make an address, for
I feel that an address by me would
merely be an interruption of the busi
ness of the Presbytery, which is very
much more important 1 can say with
sincere conviction, that anything
might be able to say to the Presby
tery Moreover, I have not come here
as representing the office which I now
occupy. because so soon as Dr Tay
lor asked me if I could meet with the
Presbytery, my thought went back to
a time, long before I had any thought
of occupying public office. when
throughout a very happy boyhood I
was associated with one of the most
inspiring fathers that ever a lad was
blessed with. who during practically
the whole of my youth was the State
clerk of the Southern General Assem
bly, and who, tlierefore, among other
things, edited the minutes of the as
sembly
