The services at the house was conducted by Rev. J. >J. Teasdale, at the conclusion of which l the body was removed to lt. Paul’s ` Church, escorted by a large representa- tion of the Sons of England of the city, `of which deceased was a member. 1 After the service at the church the pro- cession reformed and accompanied the remains to their last resting place where the ritual of the S. U. E. was conducted with all the beauty and solemuity char- acteristic of the order. The casket was beautifully adorned with the prettiest of naturs's gifts. Loving hands had ar- ranged them that their full beauty might be recognized. The Artillery _ band: played several: touching selec- tions. THE remains of the late Rev. J. ¥Johnson, were conveyed to their last resting place on Saturday afternoon. Revs. T. F. Fullerton. D B. McLeod.J. J. Teasdale and E. Gillis preceded the hoarse to the church. The serviee in St. James’ Church was conducted by Rev. T. F. Fullerton, assisted by Revs. D. B. McLeod, J. J. Teasdale and A. tGunn. The pall-bearers were Messrs. John Ross, Horace McEwen, Geo. D. Davison, J. N. Campbell, Henry Worth _ and Charles J .Webster. Several mem- bers ofthe Masonic Fraternity were in attendance. The services were deeply _solemn and impressive. Touching re- marks suitable to the occasion were made by Rev. T. F. Fullerton. A 'widow and little son are left to mourn. All that is mortal of the late Mrs. W. E. Bagnall, was conveyed to its last resting place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery yesterday afternoon at 3.30. The funeral was very largely attended, hundreds being present to pay s last tribute to the memory of the deceased. The services at the church and grave were performed by Rev. Dr. Morrison. The pall-bearers were Messrs. James Byrne, Chas. Lyons, L. W. Watson. Harrison Carvell, Charles Chandler and Con. Frank Kelly. The remains of the late Mrs. Moses Byrne, were interred yesterday after- noon at 1 o'clock, in the R. C. Ceme- tery. The services at the church and grave were conducted by Rev. Father Johnson. ‘The funeral was largely attended. The pall-bearers were John Hogan.P. P. Gillis, Capt. Nicholson, William Murray. sr.. Henry B. Smith _and J. B. McDonald. Mr. and Mrs. T. B. A AGREEMENT REACHED. tween the Candles Pacific sud the ls- terceloaiel Railways. 2' Moirransr, Sept. 15.- As a result of several conferences held here between Mr. Blair, the Minister of Railways, and Mr. Shauzhnessy, the President of the Canadian Pacific Railway Company, an agreement has been reached be- tween the Canadian Pacific and the In- tercolcnial Railways with regard to the question of the terms upon which the Canadian Pacific shall be allowed the use of their railway between St. John and Halifax, for the purposes of their through trafiic and also to discuss the conditions under which the traflic of that part of St. John shall be conducted during the coming winter. Mr. Blair had a preliminary confer- esoe yesterday with Pres. Shanghnessy and a protracted conference was held this afternon, the result of which was that an agreement was practically reached.. <<<<<<< ence, said he was sanvuine that the whole question would be satisfactorily settled, but he could not make any an- nouncement of the details as yt t. Mr. Shaughnessy when seen to-night at first declined to say anything out subsequently admitted that an under~ standing had been reached but that the details could not be made known for the present. It is understood that the Can- adian Pacific obtains certain important concessions and that the interests of St. John as a winter pcrtwlll be conserved. Mr. Blair left for St. John tornight. Later--It is learned on best authority to-night that by the terms of the agree- ment which has been reached between- President of the Canadian Pacific. the freight a-nd passengers arrange- _ ment between the Canadian Pacific and; the Intercolonial wil_1 be continued tor, the present and that the same service as hitherto to St. John, will be continued. The Canadian Pacific will also, it is understood, be allowed to solicit freight in the Intercclonial territory.
