Mr. Gallant wn-s a veteran of the Great War and went with the first contingent of ihe 105th from Simimerside in June 1916. He served all through the var on the Western front in the 3th Battalion. Ho wna badly woun- led in August, 191B and was dis- charge-d from hospital in May, 1919, when he returned to his home in Surnincrside. Since then Mr. Gal- lant had been in very poor health He belonged to the Bugle Band ‘of he 105th and played the bass drum. lie was very highly esteemed by his comrades and by the citizens of his home town. He was a member of the Canadian Legion. Tnerc are left to mourn, his mother, Mrs, P. C. Gallant; three sisters, Inez, Mrs. Herbert spray and Miss Euphemia, of New York, and Mrs. Stanley Dawson, of Tryon; four brothers. Charles in California; Wilfred, Ar- thur and Rennie of Summerside, to whom sympathy is extended.
