He was recalled but ia courtesy had to satisfy all, The pin- ture_was good, the nightly change (From F. B. l\IcCnrdy & Co's Private _ Wire.) NEW YORK, Nov. 22-The cotton market is showing a very distinct disposition to discount a bullish Government crop report early next month and if the south shows any readiness to follow an advance some Ui the bullish predictions may be re- alized for it is increasingly evident that consideration of the census fig- ures has had a tendency to reduce the average view of the probable yield. The first effect ofthe ocnsus re- port us we see it was bullish chiefly becailse- the figures were a little smaller than expected. The fact that big crop e's'fimnte1's stuck to their position -lu the face of the figures and selling by spot people in connec- tion \vIith realizing-5 by buyers on the ccnsiis figures cmised the reaction. But it seems that after further con- sideration tho :bullish view of the giuuing hgures is beginning to pre- lominnte. The current argument in hat connection runs about as fol- ows. _ While this years crop was later han that of last season, the general killing temperature late on October make it improbable that any more cotton was made after November 1st this year than last. Now appears that ginning per working day for the time between November lst; and 14th this year showed almost as much of a. falling off as it did during the some time last year and if no mor? cotton has been made after Novem licr lst this year than last: then there is no reason why ,ginning for the bul- ance of the season should not show as rapid decrease ras it did after November 14th last year. In such a case the commercial crop would be under twelve million ‘bales at the best and the more extreme bull claim that the falling,ofI is likely to bc even more rapid. The market opened at a ,dccl-inc of 7 to 13, sold about 14 net lower and then advanced on covering the bull support with every indication that some strong inter- ests were accumulating long lines in advance of the Government estimate. There still seems to he a good deal of cotton for sale around 15 c. c f. l t _ \:__ __ __;17 _L _ 59” Q5 W d filVl I 011 $1’ “_ il UCSD I in Good Second Hand We must not have one second hand organ in ourstore the last day oi December.
