Many of the friends of the fnmily were present from the surroundlriiz parishes. All the mem- bers of the immediate family were present except one son in British Columbia. Besides Father John there were Allan Joseph, who lives on the homestead, Mrs. John B., of Vernon River. and Daniel J., who came homi from Groton, Conn., with his wife for the occasion. A frrand wedding dinner was serv- ed, gotten up _ in Mrs. A. J. McDon- ald’s best style with the assistance of the friends of the family and it is needless to say that all did iustice to the unpetising vlands. After dinner Father McLellan, on behalf of the clergy present and the Rev. Gregory McLellan who was un- avoldahly absent, in his own happy manner gave expression to the senti- ments of the clergy and congratulat- ed the aged couple wishing them many more years to live. Father John replied for his parents thanking the kind donors and then read the congratulations which were sent by His Excellency the Apostolic Delegate, Mgr.
