The Groceteria The now Groccteria Just inaugur- certalniy made a hit with the hun- dreds who visited the store last week. Mr. I-Iazen Baker, the genial and progressive manager. conducted a Guardian reporter over the store, flXlilaining at the same tilne every detail in connection therewith. The arrangement, is to say, silnpie in- deed. but thorough. There are no waits and everything works as smoothly as a well oiled machine. On entering the store one notices a turn-stile to the right through which the customer passes. passing through he cannot return the same way. but mustvmake the round. coming out at the wrapping or tieing—up counter. After passing through the turn- stlle the customer is handed a bas- ket in which he places the groceries chosen as he goes along the line of well-stocked shelves. If. may be men- tioned here that all the groceries are price tagged with the old and new prices, showing the saving made, therefore a customer has no diffi- culty in doing his shopping, for this is the idea of the Groceteria. There are no waits, everybody helps them- selves and‘ when supplied follows right along to the cashier and wrapping counter, where the parc- els are either placed in a tidy shop- ping bag or carefully wrapped. - This idea seems to have taken‘ hold, judging by the hundreds seen, in the store, all _busy as beavers without the least sign of confusion.
