National For those of you who re- ceive job offers through this process, standard guidelines have been set up as princi- ples for employers and stu- dents to follow. the more significant ones for Several of you to note are: — employers are not to recind offers of employment, nor°renege>upon acceptance +; of employment. — students are not to ac- cept more than one offer of employment nor renege upon acceptance of employment. — employers are not to force job acceptances prior to January 15 for offers made on or before Decem- ber 31. If offers are after Jan. 1 to students of two semester institutions, the earliest made forced accep- tance date is four weeks after the offer, except after March 1 when a period of two weeks will be sufficient. There are lots of things that students have to worry about, and of course one of these worries might be, and usually is, about money (ie: loans). concerh The student loan appeal season is upon us and I want to encourage those stu- dents not satisfied with their loan or bursary assessment to take advantage of this pro- cess. It is not a bad thing to appeal! In fact, its con- cept was to offer the student an opportunity to appeal for more money. I can help you Sort out your loan papers, etc., and suggest options for you. So please feel free to drop by Student Services for assistance. My feeling is that the effort of papers shuffling may indeed be all that is re- quired for more money. Student Services also has a financial aid booklet, and vertical file that contains in- formation on bursaries and scholarships. I suggest that you take advantage of this system to check into those monies that upcom- ing deadlines for tions. For this article.
