Another drunk was fin- ed $2 and costs- The sentence was suspended during good behaviors-S. —SLI‘GHT ACCIDENT-Miss Alice Gallant, of Mount Carmel was slight- ly hurt on Monday evening about nine o'clock, when the car in which she was riding ran into a telephone post outside the Post Ofllce at Sum- mersido. The young man, who was driving the car was dazzled by the lights of another car and in making the turn ran into the telephone post, smashing the front part of the ma- ‘ chine quite a bl’; The radiator was bent and one of the lights broken. The young lady was taken to the hospital and in spite of the stat! be- lng occupied with the victims of the level crossing accident which had oc- curred shortly before, her injuries were promptly attended to and she was able to return home.-S. —FUNERAL 0F MR. FRANK GEORGE LARGE-The funeral of Mr. Frank George Large, the second victim of Monday night's tragedy, took place at four o'clock yesterday afternoon at the Txyon Baptist Church, Rev. M. 0- Brlenton officiat- ing. The church was filled with mourners, whose heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family in their great loss. The deceased was a. steady, hard-working young man and a gen- eral favorlte. There are left to mourn besides his father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Robert Callbeck, of Tryon and Miss Annie at home; also one brother, Alexander, in Western Canada. The Guardian joins in ex- tending sympathy to the bereaved- Interment was in the Community Cemetery at Tryoru-S. —HAROLD HARKNESS BADLY BURNED-Master Harold Harkncss, thirteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harkness, of Summerslde, was badly burned about the face and hand on Monday when gas exploded from the tank of a disused car in the yard of Messrs. Robinson's Mill at. the east end of the town. The young fellow was working at the Bakery adjoining the mill and was returning from dinner when, he says, that he saw smoke coming from one of the tanks and went over to look at it. He struck the side of the tank and the gas at once ignited, burning the little lad's face and hand- He was able to run to his home but fainted immedi- ately after. l-le was taken to the hospital where his burns were dress- ed and allowed afterwards to go home. On ‘Tuesday morning he was suffering a 800d deal, but the doctors are in hopes that his eye-sight is un- injured. Mrs. Grady was 70 years of age and had been in poor health for some years. About ten years ago she went to re- side ln Vancouver in the hope that the warmer clhnate would be bene- ficial to her. The deceased was be- fore her marriage Miss Hibbert, of Summerside. She will be kindly yo- membcred by many friends on the Island.
