Remembrance llay At O'Leary Despite inclement weather, there were very impressive brance Day service: at Under the command of Dr. George Dewar and msrshalled by Ira Ellie the veterans paraded from the O'Lcary Hall to the War Me- morial where a two minute ail- ence was observed. Also in the parade were the school children led by their teachers, Lewis Mac- Kenzle, Principal, Miss Pearl Craig, Palmer, The First O'Leary Troop of Boy Scouts were also in the parade led by their Assistant Scoufmaster Douglas Hardy. ' At the War Memorial a short but very eloquent address was given by Mr. Peter Pate, after which wreaths were laid by the Legion and by relatives who lost loved ones in the two great struggles for freedom. Then the parade marched to the O'Leary l-lall Where a short but very interesting program was greatly enjoyed. Mr. Peter Pate ln his witty and humorous manner made an excellent chairman. Pre- sent on the platform were: E. B. Ellis, O'Leary, president of the O‘l.cary Legion and the three resi- dent clergymen of O’Leury, who were heard in brief but apprecia- tive and appropriate remarks. The Ministers nre: Rev. \V. G. Dick- son, Rev. l-l. M, Burgess and Rcv. C. O. Hewlett who lost a son in the war. The junior pupils had an exer- cise: "We Remember Them" and they sang the hymn, "Land of Our Birth We Pledge to Thee", There was an exercise by three senior pupils, Peggy Ellis. Billy Math- eson and Arthur Seaman. Carolyn Burgess recited "In Flanders Fields". The final number by the school children was a recitation. "In Memorlam" by the primary nu- plls. The children nil did splendid- ly. The organist was Mrs. H. M. Burgess. One member of the Left- ion, Robert Justice. had passed away since last Remembrance Day. The ceremonies concluded by sing- ‘ ing the National Anthem. In the evening there was an enjoyable supper at the hall.
