Dear Students, This letter is to in- form you of an event wh- ich is soon.to take place on campus: an event which I personally feel is cru- cially important to every person who is in anyway connected with the Univer sity of Prince Edward Is- land. The date in Monday, October 7 at 8:00 p.m. in Duffy Ampitheatre and the event is "Xear Six: A Focus on Objectives". As you may be aware, a study has been commissio- ned by the U.P.E.I. Senate to examine the role of U.P.E.I. in the Island community and its ability, 8 it presently exists, / to fulfill the education— a. / al needs of the students and to suggest the direct— ion in which 1’1.P.E.I. should proceed in the fut- *ure. On October 7, at 8:00 p.m., in Duffy Ampitheatre you and yOur fellOW stud~ ents and faculty will receivésan opportunity to meet this Committee, rec-2 eive some information on . its background, discover how they plan to proCeed 'from here, and realize‘ perhaps the implications that such a study will have. You can be an impor- tant part of the audience, for this is a chance to ask some questions relat— ing to the study, and to state issues the comm- ittee shou1d be looking ' at. I am asking you, as a fellow student and a con- \cerned one, that you,take time out of your schedule and attend this important event. The future of U.P.
