In the Hotel Saskatchewan yes- terday afternoon following the oili- clal opening of the ninth annual convention of the Canadian Jewel- lers‘ Association, there were dealers. wholesale and retail, and jobbers and manufacturers-all jewellers- wandering from display to display. and never seeming to tire of the glorious exhibits through tile 54 rooms of the hotel turned over to display purposes. ' Silver ware. gold plate, window displays. glass and cut glass, novel- ties. rings, diamonds and a hundred other lines of the Jewellery, trade, all demanded attention at the same tulle. The displays were thrown open to the trade at 2.30 yesterday after- noon, though tllc offlclal opening came at l0 a.m. Tuesday morning, when over 240 delegates had regis- tered from all parts of the Domin- ion. The general public will be per- lcvening. All outstanding part of one ex- hibit is a pearl, beside a blister pearl, which is worthless. in the oyster shell. and all in a specially prepared fluid.
