Meeting opened with Institute ode and roll call was responded to with “Laund- ry hints and removal of stains." Re- ports of committees were received and adopted, and all bills presented and paid. Several members thanked the Institute for fruit and lunches sent during illness in their hom. Some discussion took place re con- cert and it was decided to hold same as soon as possible. An interesting feature of the meeting was a con- test put on by the hostess for which she gave two beautiful prizes, first going to Mrs. Harry Jenkins and Miss Amy Myers, drawn by Mrs. Jenkins, second equally merited by Mrs. Jas. Monaghan and Miss Freda Ferguson, drawn by the former. Meeting closed with the National Anthem to meet the next month at the schoolhouse, when roll call will be answered with membership fee. A delightful lunch was served and ii pleasant social hour enjoyed. The members warmly welcomed and en- joyed the fellowship and social in- tercourse of the members present from the I-lazelbrook, W. X. On Monday evening, Oct. lith. a fire of unknown origin destroyed a barrack and .stack of grain belong- ing to Mr. George Ballem, and it was with difficulty that the two re- maining stacka which were within a few feet. of the others were' saved. Fortunately the light breeze blowing at the time was not on the house and outbuildinga which were quite near the fire.
