Whether its administration to breeding ewes is a valuable practice. has not yet/been fully determined; but experiments now being carried’ on at the Freder- icton. N.B., Experimental Station. would seem to indicate that it has some effect. The lodlzed salt, which was ted to one-half o! the ewes at the Station from fall until spring. was made by drying out fifty pounds of common salt and then sprinkling it with two ounces of potassium iodide, dissolv- ed in water. The other halt o! the ewes were given untreated salt. In his report for last year, the Su- perintendent of the Station states that there was little. if any. dlflerence between the two lots of lambs the first. year; but in the second year those ewes treated to iodlzed salt pro- duced stronger lambs than did the ewes which were given only plain salt.
