ROTARY "Broadly speaking, the Canada Carry On Corps should be prepar- ed to do anything at any time anywhere for Canada's war effort." This was the statement made by the President of the Corps, Willi?!‘ S. Grant, Past Rotary District Governor, in addressing his fellow lgotarians at. the luncheon yester- ay. President Grant reviewed the many activities of the C.C.C. since its organization on June 14th, and explained the functions of the various committees. He told of the work clone on behalf of the troops, the guest children, recruiting. national reg- istration, the Red Cross drive, etc. etc. For the ambulance fund more than $700 was on hand, and he was confident that the balance of the $1750 objective would be raised. Among the projects now under way is the division of the city into zones, each to be in charge of a chairman, who will oversee the collection of old magazines and carry on other activities. The big job, however, is to be the organization of Kings and Queen's Counties into a Disaster Relief District so that there will be some organization ready in the event of any national disaster. This or- ganization will provide all sorts of services. The speaker also stated that C. C. C. had provided buglcs and drums for certain Island military units outside the province, and he referred to a meeting called by the Mayor to discuss the forma- tion of a Citizens‘ band. The 30 C.C.C. concerts in aid o1 the Red Cross drive. the review at the Exhibition grounds, the dance at.
