morning for Toronto, Montreal and other
Canadian cities, to visit the leading mil-

An auspicious event took place in
St. Simon and Jude Church, Tignish, at
4.30 a.m. yesterday. (Ang 20) when Mr. J.
Edward Gallant, Tignish, and Miss. Gert-
rude Doyle, daughter of the late Patrick
Doyle of Norway, Lot 1, were united in
marriage, Rev. D. M. Macdonald olliciat-
ing in the presence of a large number of
friends and relatives. The bridesmaid
the groom, and the latter was supported
by Mr. Wheelock Fitzgerald. After the
Nuptlal Mass. the bridal party repaired to
the MacKenna House, where a sumptuous
wedding breakfast was served. The new-
ly wedded pair thenlefr. by the early train
for Summerside, where they embarked on
the steamer Northumberland, for a
wedding trip to Boston and other Ameri-
can cities. Mr. and Mrs. Gallant are both
very popular,a fact attested by the numer
ous and very beautiful wedding presents,
among them a handsome one from
Branch 281, C. M. B A., which they re-
ceived, and the congratulations and good
wishes showered upou them. In these
felicitations it give us great pleasure to
