We can only list the names and particulars of those who actually complete the forms. Even if listed last year 1t 1s necessary for you to send us the form for this year if you wishl your name included. From present indications, based on the number of inquiries being received and other information, we believe that the tourist prospects fori Prince Edward Island this year are fairly good. GENERAL INFORMATION. Owing to so many rumors being circulated regarding transportation, which have no foundation in fact, we urgently request you when writing to your friends to get the facts. The following information is the latest we have received from govern.- ltent and travel sources- AUTOMOBILES. American tourists when entering Canada, if staying for a period of over forty-eight hours, receive a. permit for. twenty units of gasoline, which on the present basis of five gallons to the unit equals one hundred gallons of gasoline, On the ordinary automobile this allows approximately 1,800 miles for driving. We have been i11- formed that there are large numbers of automobiles still with good tires on them, also that some people from th Unitd States are doubling up on their automobile trips and two families coming in one car. Write this information to your friends. BY RAIL. Our latest official infonnation is that United States citizens will be free to travel to any part of the North American con- tinent. There are no restrictions on rail travel in Canada. We expect‘ heavy rail traffic to Prince Edward Island from the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario. The special twenty-one day excursion rates will be in effect from June 14th to September 1st from Port Arthur east. The through daily Pullman service between Charlottetown and Montreal has been resumed. This Pullman at present leaves Montreal on the “Mer- itime Express” at noon. When the summer timetable goes into effect on May 25th it will leave Montreal every evening, except Saturday, on the “Ocean Limited”. The Pullman leaves here every morning, except Sunday, at 7.00 a. m. Connections from Summerside and West are made at Emerald Junction. This is a splendid service and we ask you to give it as much publicity as possible. AIR SERVICE. The Maritime Central Airways is providing s. splendid twice daily service from Charlottetown and Summerside to Moncton and Saint John. Connections are made at Moncton with the Trans-Canada Airlines fpr Halifax, Montreal and points West, and from- Moncton to Boston via. Northwest Airlines, connecting at Boston and New York with American Airlines to 0.11 points. This service is becom- ing increasingly popular. BUS SERVICE. We have been informed that 8M‘! bus service on Prince Edward Island will be the same as last year with a. few minol. schedule changes. Improved Sunday bus service W111 be in effect. Other local bus services, we understand, will be resumed as usual. Bus connections to the mainland will be the same as laetyear. There will be two daily bus services to and from Boston and Saint John during the summer months. WOOD ISLANDS FERRY. This» splendid service will be_ rs- sumed May lst with some slight schedule changes. The S. S. “Prince Nova.” during the winter months was put in excellent shape for tilt. summer service. THIS YEAR PEOPLE WANT AND MUST HAVE TH! ACTUAL FACTS REGARDING TRANSPORTATION. We have available in this office a great deal of traffic information such as sched- ules, rates, at ceterc, on the various services, and we will gladly assist‘ you in any way possible. We do not sell tickets. These are obtained ti. W. K. Rogers Agencies Ltd, Queen Street, WAR EFFORT. Owing to the fact Canada needs every dollar of American exchange that can possibly be secured for the purpose of paying for our vast war purchases in that country, and. that tourists bring in American dollars, we urgently request you to send us the names and addresses of your friends and relatives 1n the Umted States to whom we can send our literature and the exact facts about coming t0 Canada this year. Last year we received a large number of names. and many came here after receiving the facts we sent them. Now we want any additional names not previously sent in. We again repeat this is an URGENT MATTER IN THE WAR EFFORT. We should also like to receive names and addresses of your Canadian frriends and relatives.
