This fear was expressed Wed- nesday by spokesmen for the Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada, which represents some 5,600 scientific and professional workers em- ployed by the federal govern- ment. The National Research Coun- ¢il and the Defence Research Board, the two federal govern- ment agencies engaged in space research, said the new cruiting drive for space scientists in the U.S. has not yet been felt by these two government bodies. Stea- elie, president of NRC, said “we ean't say what will happen in the future.” The National Aeronautics and Space Administration in the U.S. now is in the process of recruit- ing 2,000 additional scientists and engineers, The agency al- ready has a staff of 6,000.
