The Liberal Machine has at least one weapon in this cam-A paign that no Conservative wants or has. That is the weapon of fear. Our Liberal opponents are running scared - as well they mi-aht - and some of them are spreading f e a r and mistrust wherever they feel it might help them. One of our Conservative workers who has been actively campaigning for the Conservative Leader. Mr. Bell. and his colleague has been threatened with loss of business and even of his iob if he does not slacken his efforts to turn out the Gov- ernmenf. The threat was made by one of the Liberal satellfes (who has his wagon firmly hitched to the Premier's star). His amateur attempt to stifle free speech and to sandbag the ris- ing tide of protest against the Liberal Government was a dis- mal failure and he has returned to sulk in his tent. Our Conservative friend is not frightened. He knows the difference between a sandbag and a windbag. In the Cardigan District. Government forces are going full blast to defeat MacDonald and Shaw. They describe Mr. Shaw as a former "Liberal Minister" and th e y are wailing about his ingratitude toward the Liberal Government. What nonsense! Walter Shaw sewed the people of this Province as a Civil Servant. He was a servant of all the people - not the hireling of a few Grits. What a sad and sorry spectacle is the Liberal campaign in the Cardigan district. Their campaign is being led by a Min- ister of the Crown. his colleague and f h e assistant vendor from a Government liquor store. What a happy Liberal fam- ily that Is! I There are those who must remain silent until election day. But they will speak out on May 25th. Though Government sup- porters may howl like banshees or whisper like f h e wind - - they may not save themselves. Because the ballot is secret and silent. But it speaks loud- est of all because it is both a free voice and a fearless one. G0 AHEAD!
