THE CADRE, TUES., APRIL 9, 197a pag. 5 TII‘resiIIential pledge re: apathy" As everyone is well aware, the school year is in it's last stages. In the SU off- ice, over the past month, the new executive has been fam- iliarizing itself with the various functions and duties involved in our new positions. We haven't made any earth shattering decisions but we have made progress in some important areas. Many ideas and reccommendations we have will require considerable work during the summer and by Sept. we should have a very good, definite and extensive pol- .icy concerning SU affairs. Throughout the summer there will be at least three execu- tive members in campus full time. The other two members will be readily available if necessary. If any students have any ideas that they would like to express, please feel free to come to talk to us now and in the future. Apathy on campus is our big- gest concern. I realize that people get sick of hearing ’ this all the time} they get yapathetic about it. In the fi- nal analysis, there is noth- ing that can be done to get people involved if‘they don't /want to be involved. Our aim will be to remove as many of the 'excuses' as possible and then leave it up to the indi- viduals to decide. I think that in September it will be obvious what I mean by 'removal of excuses‘. The entire executive is looking forward to working with you in the coming year. We thank the seniors for their guidance and leadership and wish them all the best in th- eir future endeavours. Have a good summer and we'll see you in September. Yours truly, Gordon Campbell President UPEISU IDS AMGFLFS FREE "F95 POSITION as EDITOR ot OAORE is open.
