Guest Speaker On the 14th a guest speaker came to talk to the Engineering Society. John R. MacLean, a former UPEI Engineering student, spoke of his work with Span Aero on the space station ‘‘Freedom’’ and the Canadian involvement in the project. Softball On Friday the 1 8th the engineers congre- gated outside the Duffy building for our annual fall BBQ. After a short time of indulging in processed meat by-prod- ucts, the Engineering Society hit the field fora SERIOUS game of softball... NOT! The game was highlighted with spectacular defensive plays in a style not unlike the Bad News Bears or the Blue Jays. The Engineers beat the rest of the engineers in a pitchers duel that came down to the wire. Final score: 47-34. Once again the BBQ was lit up for some culinary delights and the victory party began at the Panther Lounge. The celebration went into extra innings and finally ended in the wee hours of Saturday morning. Golf On Satur- day the 26th the Engineering Society travelled to Clyde River fora fun-filled round of golf.
