"The subject was not of Greek descent." says Wolberg. ”she had never lived in Greek surroundings. never studied the language or, to the best of her knowledge,' ever heard it spoken." PUBLIC SENSATION Why. then, the strange outburst under the influence of hypnosis? Both he case and the question are typical of hypnotic ”age re- gression"-a phenomenon which currently appears to be preoccupy- lng the public to a degree prob- ably unmatched since the height of the flyin saucer sensation. Interest started gathering mo- mentum last month with the pub- Iication of a book entitled ”The Search for Bridey Murphy" The author, Morey Bernstein. is an amateur liypnotist. RECOVERED PIIRASES Wolberg didn't stop investigating the case of the woman who burst into poetic Greek when he discov- ered no immediate reason for her use of the language. The psychi- atrist found. through persistent in. vestigation: ”When the girl was about two years old her mother was a house- keeper for a Greek professor.
