Jerrersox, Ohio, Feb. 21.—Orname Ellis has won a verdict for $10,500 against the New York and Chicago and St. Lonis railroad. Ellis was an engineer on the road, and in May, 1890, his engine and twenty-nine freight cars plunged through a high trestle over Con Creek, in’ wesiern Pennsylvania. Ellis received injuries to his system which made him a cripple for life. He sued for $60,000. ; Desiiyx, Feb. 21.—A_ startling discov- ery was made to-day in the yard of a farm- stead at Borris, a village in County Car- low, from which the tenants had been evicted. In awellin the yard a sack was fuund which contained the decomposed bodies of a male and a female. They had evidently been murdered. Paris, Feb. 21—A duel has been ar- ranged to take place next week beween Audinet Gibert of New York and Senor Don Manuel De! Pilar De Santa Maria, who went to New York from this city in order to testify in favor of Mrs. Annie T, Gibert, who brought suit against her hus- band for separation, Mr. Gibert had pre- viously accused his wife of improper inti- macy with Santa Maria. The explosion was attributed to the discharge of a bomb, but it was snb- sequently learned it was caused by the ignition of gas, The police found 11 sham bombs on the premises’ Those were taken to headquarters for examination.
