Caplain and' Mrs. Charles Brant of Norwich, Conn., have been visiting for some time in this province of which Mrs. Brant is a native. They visited Mrs. Brant’s mother and sis- ter, Mrs, Curtis and Mrs. Thomas McNeill at Tryon for two weeks and have for three weeks been the guest of Fred and Mrs. Worth, 72 Sprim Park Road, Charlottetown. This was Capt. Brant's first visit and he with his wife have enjoyed every minute of it. They leave today ‘by the Boston boat en route home to resume their work in the Salvation Army. Tile body of William Morrison of Lot Forty, who died in Ottawa on October lst, was forwarded to his late home from Charlottetown yester- day. Deceased left for Western Can- ada in August last on the Harvest Excursion. He became ill and decided to try to get home. It turned out that his trouble was typhoid fever. I-lo had got. as far as Ottawa and up- on' his arrival there hh was carried out of the train into the railway station there to await the arrival of a physician, when his death occurr- ed. Deceased was a man about 45 years of age and leaves a widow and a large family to mourn their loss. The authorities here have written to Dorchester, Mass., respecting the record, of W. L. Philips, who is now in Queen’s County jail awaiting trial or burglary. It is understood the information they received shows that Phillips was sentenced to two years in the House of Correction, in 1905, and subsequently one year,that he escaped, was recaptured. and srntcnced ‘from 2 to 8 years in Connecticut State Prison. He re- turned to the House of Correction in 1911, and was pardoned by Governor Foss on June 19th, 1912. Photos of the prisoner were forwarded to Char- lottetown, and his occupation was given as shoe cutter.-Exe. The death occurred of Mrs. Eliza- beth Hackett, widow of thc late Isaac Hackett. occurred on September the Zlst., at her daughter’s residence, Mrs. Jas. H. Miller of East; Wallace, Climb, Oo., N. S., whore she. had made her home for the last. twenty- iive years. Mrs. I-Iackettls maiden name was Weeks, the daughter of William and Sarah Weeks who camo from Plymouth, England, to Char- lottetown,'P. E. I., in 1817, where Elisabeth was born in 1824 and seven years later came to Nova Scotia whereshe settled permanently. Wil- liam Weeks' had.ssven children, Eliza- beth is the last for death to claim.
