The log house on Pownal Street situated between st. Joseph’s Co:vent and the residence of Mr. Henry Weeks, has been pulled down in order that an addition to the Convent may be erected on its site. This house, it is said, was over a half century old, and was one of the first comfortable log cabins built in the city. We learn that the addition to St. Joseph’s Convent will be com- menced this fall or early next spring, [t will be ninety feet deep, broad enough to fill up the gap between the Convent and Mr. Week’s, and will be the height of the Convent.
