At her mother's death. her father returned to North Bedeque, bringing with him his four small children. Shortly after Myrtle was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. David MacKs of Albany, and from her early eh dhood through- out all her life, she considered their home hers. In 1907 she mar- ried William Millington of DeSable and for some years lived in Cape Traverse. and afterwards m U. S. A. Twelve years ago they returned to the Island moved to Borderland since that tme, more their home there. Mrs. Milling \ was a wo- man of a. particularly pleasing oer- Sondllty. She was a kind sympa- thetic neighbor, always ready to help in time of sickness or trouble. Hei- genial disposition won for her a host of friends. and she will be greatly missed by old and young ike. THURSDAY On the evening of March 13th a large concourse of people assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pct- er Martin, to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. James B wn and little son and daughter, w o are leaving to take up their resjflence in an other community. An address was read on behalf of all present to which Mr. Brown suitably replied. The presentation of a beautiful giif-t followed. The evening was spent in dancing, music, and social intercourse. Lunch was served by the ladies. All joined in wishing Jim, Jeanette and little family, hap- piness in their new home. The death occurred at his home in Carleton, Lot 6 on March 12th smi- a. lingering] illness of Peter c. Blanchard at t e age of 76 years. Mr. Blanchard was a successful farmer and was well and favorably known. He was visited during his illness by Rev. M. J. Rooney ‘vhc administered to him the Liast Sac- raments of the Church. The deceas- ed. leaves to mourn his widow, six sons and three daughters. The fun- eral was held on Friday at 9.30 a. m. to St. Anthony's Church, Blooin~ fleld where Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. M. J. Roon- ey who also officiated in St. An- thony's cemetery. The pallbearers were Bannerman Webb. Damus Ar- senault, Seymour Elliott. Howard Arsenault, Carl Mcwilllams, Frank P. On the night of Feb. 13, friends and neighbours of Hunter River and surrounding districts met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. ivilliam MacMillan to welcome their and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Hilton MacMiilan, to their midst. Hilton, for some years past, has been em- ployed in United States. He was for unate enough there to meet the charming litlte lady who is now his lielpmate. The people of this community are more than glad to welcome her, because she has be- come the wife of a native son and because she comes from the land of a great friendly ally. Tile happy young couple were the reciploms of many useful and beautiful gifts. The evening was spent in dancing. The music being furnished by Mr. Scotty Armstrong. Lunch was serv- ed by the ladies. Mrs, Carley replied for herself and her husband. who is a member of the Canadian Niivv on active service overseas.
