In the early part of the day few were present, but towards evening a large number arrived in the trains from Sommerside and Kensington, The Hon. J. B. Finch delivered an hour’s speech, and short speeches wera made by other prominent temperance men. Mr, Finch afterwards drove to Summerside, where he addressed a very intelligent audience in Ludlow Hall. His speech on that occasion 8 very highly spoken of. nonieintifiialiiad Tue congregation of Zion Church, in this city, have had their Church repaired and repainted in such way that, we are sure, it would now please the fastidious taste of our hypercritical correspondent, ‘Steeple Cleydon.” The outside of the Church was painted by Messrs. Taylor and stentiford of this city, and is plain, clean and becoming. The inside was done by Mr. Matthew Hisgen, a skilful German artist, who has so blended and laid his Colors that itis beautiful. The ceiling is ofa rich sky bine, with handsome bor- dere, and the pulpit and pews are of a fine canary color, Altogether the improvement of the Church reflects credit upon the con- gtegation and the city.
