Bicycle Race for the Fifty-Mile Championship of the World. Advices from London, Eng., state that the great bicycle race for £100 and the championship of the world, between John Keen, the champion, and David Stanton, took place at Agricultural Hall. The dis- tance was fifty miles. Both men rode wire machines, and the betting was heavy. At first Stanton was the favorite and then Keen. Previous to the start, however, it was rumored Stanton had covered the fifty miles in the best time on record, and in spite of Keen’s wonderful performances he was made the favorite.
