At the Police Court yesterday morning two parties, viz:--John Cul- len and Joseph Hennessy, who had bail bonds for their appearance be- fore the court, had the bonds of ten dollars forfeited. The application to set aside the election petition filed against Cyrus- Crosby was heard yesterday after- noon before Mr. Justice Fitzgerald. The questions are first: Was Mr. Crosby served- with copy of the peti- tion, there being variance between' the copy served on him and the origiln-al petition on fyle in Court and secondly thiwt the petition alleges that the election took place on the eighth July whereas a matter of fact it was held on seventh July. The learned Judge after argument hy Mr. Msthieson for the petitioner Mo- lyneaux and Mr. Haszard attorney General and Mr. Johnstone, K. C., for the respondent, took time to consider his judgment.
