Meeting Women ’s Music Club The attendance of over fifty lad- ies at the final public meeting of the Women's Music Olub, held in evidence of the interest taken in - this organization. A feature of the afternoon's en- terbeinment was a. talk on “Folk Mhisic" by Professor Lloyd W. Shaw, the guest speaker, who in s. neat address was introduced by the Pre- sident, Mrs. Raoul Raymond and who handled his subject in his usual masterly manner. In the first part of his talk he gave a general sic in general. He then dealt with music in Denmark, pointing out the restoration of folk songs brought the people out of depres- sion, giving them greater encour- agement to work. Referring to his recent visit to Denmark he related interesting instances of the popul- arity of folk songs which were to be heard from groups of hikers along the roads, in the banquet hails and at the family meals, where these songs were rendered heartily. The following program of folk. song music was rendered: Piano Solos-(a) Londonderry Air -arr. by (ii-singer; (b) Cherry Ripe-- an‘. by Cyril Scott-Miss Lillian MacKenzie, Mus. Bat. Bop.
