Of the impression she made, it is difficult to speak decidedly. It is certain tiiat sonic- times she displayed talent of a quality that would disarm criticism. This yas es- pecially shown in the rendition of “ How Rubenstein played.” Often, however, in her other selections the good effect was marred by her manner of inspiration. When taking breath she did it so audibly that the sound interfered greatly with her work, in fact, spoilt it. With the skill she unduubtedly possesses, it is surprising that any defects exist. She was, however, well received by her audience. Her statuesque poriigs were incompar ably good, and this part of the entertain- ment was heartily applauded. Miss Minnie Moore sang splendidly two svlos making a very enjoyable diverson, The element of comedy was supplied by a character duet by Messrs. J. B. Dawson and Geo. J. Rogers, who sang that remark- ably striking ballad “ The Man that bro<e the Bank at Monte Carlo.” Mr. 8. N. Earle with Miss Fennel open- ed the performance with an instrumental duet. Mr. Karle accompianed the other singers. PERSONAL. Dr. Murphy, of Alberton, is among the visitors to the Exhibition. Mr. W. A. F. Scott, the Summerside correspondent of the Guardian, is in the city.
