Godfrey. in her 92nd year. Mrs. Godfrey was born at Nor- born. the daughter of Thomas Friz- sell and Mary Bell. Esther. as she was called. had the misfortune of injuring her knee early in life causing her to loose her leg in her teens. But altho b so handicapped she was never known to complain. she owns an expert dressmakar. In 1899 she came to North Wilt- shire. the bride of John T. God- frey she was a devoted wife and mother. Her every thought was for her family who will always re- member her deeds of love. Al- though confined to her bed for nearly three years she was loving- ly and tenderrly cared for by tier son. Warburton and wife Rena. She was of a cheerful nature which won her a host of friends. She was an ever faithful worker for the Red Cross during World War 1, giving generously of her sewing ability. She was the last of a family of fifteen. and leaves to mourn her passing one son, Warburton. North Wiltshire. and one daughter. Mil- dred, Mrs. Beecher Campbell, Quincy. Mass.. also six grand- children. Her husband and daugh- ter .Edna predeceased her. The funeral was held on Satur- day afternoon at the home of her son Warburton and despite roads. and weather was largely attended. The bastor. Rev . C. R. Moase. conducted the service. The hymns sung were: "Rock of Ages." "The Lord Is My Shepherd." and "Abide With Me." favorites of the de- ceased. Life's Railway to Heaven was rendered by Mr. Davis Ward.
