In the Pllro Food Building the wonderful display of sea fish put up by the Marltiule Fish companies has attracted steady attention. Then in the Railway building the Mari- times have had to share -the cent-re ofthe stage only withthe West Indies, and they have not suffered in the companion. The Canadian National Railways have had a crowd five deep in front of a big relief map display of the three provinces. The coast lights, the cities of Bt. The Canadian Pacific has had two marvelously beautiful scenes depicting Digby Har- bour, and the Land of Evangeline. The Maritimes have "caught-on" in Toronto in a most extraordinary way this year. This plan, how- ever, was thought possible in be open io the objection that it might lead to unrestricted oirclllation of Ameri- "ln currency in the United states on a basis of equality with American currency, as United States bank notes circulate ln numerous Latin American countries., It was then decided that banks _ `~roug/hnut_ the country, and per- tlculariy those near the Canadian border. should be informed that Ped- el-al Reserve branch banks will ex- change American currency for Carl- adian at the prevailing discount rate. the Federal Reserve bank bearing the cost of transit. In quality the crop, especially the slsike. was never better, and was all well preserved. Durins the first part of the summer the Dssturage for cat- tle was good and resulted in a good quantity of milk, such has not been the case in the latter part of the ses~ son. ’ The cutting and harvesting of grain is now general; 90% of the grain has been cut, and about 15% has already been stared. ‘ The seed is well matured, and thi' heads well filled although the lum- mer has ben an exceptionally dr; one. This latter condition will doubt- less cause a shortage in straw. Tb( oats turned out well as there was ns lodging and no rust. thus the crop ii being saved in lood condition.
