General Meeting Results from CIMN This past Friday, CIMN held its staff meeting in the Barn to set the agenda for a new season of broadcasting and to inform volunteers on the activity taking place around the station. For those volunteers who were unable to attend, here is what took place. ‘ 1) Dan Steele was elected as the new volunteer representative to the Board of Directors. Dan will represent the interests and concerns of volunteers when the B.O.D. meets to decide on policy for the station. If volunteers have specific concerns they would like addressed, they can talk to management as well as to Dan. 2) The decision was made to hold an end of the year party for volunteers. Planning for this event is underway, and all the input we can get is needed for this event to be the roaring success that other CIMN bashes have been. To help plan, or to make suggestions, talk to Rory O’Connor. 3) It was decided that CIMN will once again stay open for the summer months. The new season starts at the beginning of May. If you want to be involved here’s what to do: 1) Volunteers who already have a show should sign up in the booth to indicate whether they want to keep the time slot they are presently in, or want to take anew time slot. If you want to do a show, but you don’t know what time you wnat, SIGN UP ANYWAY!!! 2) People who do not presently have a show, but would like to join CIMN in the summer should submit a Volunteer Application Form to the station as soon as possible. Forms are available at CIMN, in the Student Union office, and at the Student Union Info Desk in the PIT. Persons under the age of grade 12 entry (ie completing gr. 11 this spring) need not apply. So if you’re going to be around Charlottetown this summer, come down to CIMN and volunteer. It’s great experience and all training is provided, Hurry in, because spots are going fast! Also of concern to volunteers, the Student Union hiring board meets on Friday, April 2 to hire the new CIMN management for the ’93- 94 season. As you may know, this year’s manager, Todd King, has been ~ elected Student Union President. Results of who your new management is will be posted in the station as soon as they are known. As this is the final issue of the X-Press for this year, this is also the final episode of Radio Waves. Thank you for your readership, and thanks as well to Brian Arsenault for putting this together for most of the Semester. CIMN will continue broadcasting throughout the summer.
