IIAD NARROW ESCAPE — A near tragedy cxcumed Sunday sif- ternoon when lvlr. and Mrs. Jack Bentley, with tiwo other City com- panions were fishing off Oovehead. The party. which also included the owner of the boat, were caught in the storm which blew up very suddenly. They lit flares to nt- tract attention. but either the flares were not seen or the sea urns too rough to get to their res- cue. Thcy threw anchor but it helped none as the line brake, leaving them at the mercy of the sea. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bentley were washed overboard. Mtr. Bent- ley grasped a. tow line thrown to him and climbed back to safety. Seeing his wife had also been tossed oui. he swam back to her with the tow line and the two were pulled back into the boat.
