Mrs. Gil- lsapio. taught school in several districts of the Island: and after the death of her husband. two years ago. deciding on resuming her former profession. Iilrs. Gil- lespie took a refresher course at P. W. C.. and last autumn. he- gan teaching school in Carleton. her home district. where in the primary department. for the short time health allowed her to con- tinue in her much loved work. she endeared herself to the pupils. Her removal. from her work. by sickness. and then by death. is felt as a great loss to the school and district. Mrs. Gillespie passed to her rest at the Prince County Summcrside. on April 12th. 1955. in her sixty-fifth year. Mrs. Gillespie leaves to mourn. one daughter, Doris. IMrs. Hazen Macwilliamsr of Cape Traverse. who was devoted to her mother, giving up her school work in Cape: Traverse. to be with her mother during her ilness: two sons. l-lazi-n, on the homestead in Carleton. and Gordon.
